The Seattle Seahawks staged a remarkable fightback to overcome the Rams in extra time, clinching their place in the NFL play-offs.

Rallying from a sixteen-point hole in the final period, the Seahawks emerged victorious 38-37 at home, registering their fifth straight win.

While the Los Angeles had already secured a post-season spot earlier on game day, the Seahawks secured their place to the postseason after a 24-month hiatus.

With this result, the Seattle now lead their division's standings with a twelve and three record, supplanting the Los Angeles, who fell to the number five playoff position with an 11-4 record.

Quarterback Darnold threw two interceptions but regrouped to deliver two touchdown passes, including the second score to star receiver Smith-Njigba in overtime.

The visitors held a 13-7 advantage at the break before Kenneth Walker III broke free for a long touchdown run for Seattle.

Rams defensive back Josh Wallace then returned Darnold's initial pick for 56 yards, leading to a one-yard touchdown by Blake Corum on the next play.

In the final stanza, a touchdown from Matthew Stafford to Puka Nacua extended the advantage to 30-14, but Rashid Shaheed provided Seattle's comeback with a spectacular punt return.

Darnold then connected with AJ Barner in the end zone, and a successful conversion forced the contest into an extra period.

Although Nacua raced in for his second touchdown in OT, Smith-Njigba responded in kind to set up the decisive conversion.
